Khantwala Mann !!

Babbu Mann, a Punjabi singer-songwriter, musician, actor, filmmaker, director and social activist - a name that  doesn't need an introduction. He also sang in Hindi films. Started as a singer in 1998 and carved a niche  for himself  in the Punjabi music world with his songs and earned a huge fan following, be it Indian Punjabi or punjabi overseas, he is loved and admired by all.

Tejinder Singh Mann, now known as Babbu Mann, was born in Khant Manpur, District Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab). He rules the hearts of Punjabi's  all over the world.He performed at a school function when he was only seven and started writing lyrics at the age of 16.  Since 1999, he has released eight studio albums and six compilation albums, worked in Punjabi films, and also made significant contributions to the soundtracks of regional and Bollywood films.

Khantwala Maan, as he is fondly addressed by the public, his target audience is the Punjabi-speaking population of the world. He is highly appreciated by the masses, ..not only for his good singing but high thinking also.

He excels most in lyrics of his sad songs. Per him, words are a treasure for a writer and as long as the words keep flowing, the lyricist keeps penning the same. And this flow of the treasure finds it's way to the hearts of the audience. This is what keeps the momentum between a singer and the audience going. He is an artist who has not been created by the media but by the people . An artist of their hearts, their choice, their liking. He has a very magnetic personality and hence pulls huge crowds at his local shows.

Starting 1999 to current, Maan has released a number of singles from various compilation albums. Babbu Maan has performed in shows across Asia, Australia, Europe, North America and the Middle East. 

He has done some incredible work in the field that in 2014, Maan became  a winner of four World Music Awards: World's Best Indian Male Artist, World's Best Indian Live Act, World's Best Indian Entertainer and World's Best Indian Album for Talaash: In Search of Soul.

Maan also won  two daf BAMA Mysi  Awarda Germany in 2017.

Film Journey : 

Babbu Maan debuted in a supporting role in  Hawayein,  a 2003 production and since then has earned a credit of 17 films.

He is very popular amongst Punjabis and if ever one visits the state, the pictures of Babbu Mann posted in cars and wheelers can't be missed . The youth is so drawn to his style of music and singing. He pulls huge masses at his performance shows. He co-owns a production company under the name , Mann Films Private Limited.

Charitable side 

Coming from a humble background,  Babbu Mann has made a mark in the industry with his unique sense of music. He further paves his way in to the hearts of masses through his social work and demeanor. 

Mann is an ambassador for 'One Hope, One Chance', a non-profit organization outside Punjab and has expanded in many parts of Punjab also. The organization adopts the disadvantages families of farmers who have committed suicide and looks after their needs by providing them education,  health and food security.

He wants to build an old age home and a hospital for poor at his native village .
